Terms of Service

Effective: April 15, 2026

1. Service Description

BuildInvoice provides a free online invoice generator and a paid API for programmatic PDF invoice generation. The service is provided "as is" without guarantees of uptime or availability.

2. API Usage

• API keys are for your use only and may not be shared or resold.
• You are responsible for all activity under your API key.
• Abusive usage (spam, automated scraping, or generating illegal content) will result in immediate key revocation.
• Free tier includes a watermark. Removing the watermark requires a paid plan.

3. Rate Limits & Quotas

Each plan has monthly invoice limits and per-minute rate limits. Exceeding these limits will result in 429 (Too Many Requests) responses. Quota resets on the 1st of each month at midnight UTC.

4. Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of the content in your invoices. BuildInvoice claims no rights over your invoice data, company information, or generated PDFs.

5. Prohibited Use

• Generating invoices for fraudulent or illegal purposes
• Submitting malicious content (scripts, malware) in invoice fields
• Reverse engineering or attempting to exploit the API
• Exceeding rate limits through circumvention (e.g., multiple accounts)

6. Liability

BuildInvoice is not liable for any financial, legal, or business damages arising from the use of generated invoices. You are responsible for ensuring your invoices comply with applicable tax and business laws in your jurisdiction.

7. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
